Lost and stolen mobile phones: How to protect your device and what to do if you lose it



Oh, no! Your mobile device is missing. Try not to panic (easier said than done, we know). See if you can locate it remotely. Odds are high you can with devices such as phones, tablets, laptops and iPod touches. If you do locate your device, mark it as lost. If necessary, erase the data on it.


Authenticator apps and programs may provide peace of mind. They give you backup codes for one-time use. Write down these codes and keep them in a safe place. They help you regain access to any accounts you lock while your phone is lost.

You may also visit a local Wells Fargo branch to speak with a banker. If you lose your card while traveling outside of the U.S., you can report it online or call us collect at 1-925-825-7600 for personal customers or 1-916-480-3190 for business customers and then follow the voice instructions.

If your Hoosier Works Card is lost or stolen, you should immediately call the EBT customer service toll free number at 877-768-5098 or logon to the EBT customer service website at to cancel the lost or stolen card. By cancelling the card, you can prevent someone else from using it. You can also order a replacement card after cancelling the lost or stolen card. All replacement cards will be mailed within 24 hours of the date you call. You will have one free card replacement per calendar year and will be charged a $1.00 fee for each replacement after that. If food and/or cash benefits are lost due to theft or loss of your card and PIN, they will NOT be replaced by the State of Indiana.


If your mobile phone is lost or stolen and this is covered by an insurance policy, contact your insurer to claim for a new phone - or avoid being charged for excessive use. Check if the phone is covered under your home and/or contents insurance as well.
